Veggies & Fruit for Aug 10

We’re transitioning from mid-summer to late-summer crops this week! For the fruit shares there are peaches and apples–be sure to take them out of the bag when you get home.

All pickups are August 10th at Sunnyside Community Services from 5-8pm.

Sweet Corn – Enjoy this goodbye batch of sweet corn. Store in the fridge. Use within 2 days (or you can freeze them).

Red Potatoes – Golden Earthworm did not wash them this week to protect the skins, so be sure to wash them at home. Store in a cool, dark place. Use within a week.

Walla Walla Onions – Enjoy another round of these sweet onions. Store on the counter. Use within a week.

Lovelock & Magenta Lettuce – Fast-growing crops gave us two heads of lettuce this week! Store in the fridge. Use within a week.

Zucchini We’re getting deep into zucchini season. Bring on the breads! Store in the fridge. Use within a week.

Green Beans (in rotation) – These are harvested while small and tender (and delicious!). Store in the fridge. Use within 5 days.

Sungold Cherry Tomatoes (in rotation) – These are a first harvest and sweet as sugar. Store on the counter. Use now.

Please note that any boxes not picked up by 8pm will be donated to SCS, and items are subject to change. Look for Golden Earthworm Organic Farm CSA on Facebook for more recipes from members!
