June 14th Pickup: Veg + Special Shares

There’s a lot going on for this week’s pick-up; vegetables, beer, kombucha and fish special shares will be there. Plus we have Lewis Waite orders too! (Lewis Waite can be ordered a la carte at anytime through the season–so if you are feeling a little FOMO looking at everyone picking up their yummy food tomorrow, check out their site. It’s all from local farms, delivered twice a month.)

All vegetables this week should be stored in an airtight container in the fridge.

Pickups are at Sunnyside Community Services from 5-8pm. Here’s what’s in the box for June 14th:

Arugula – Delicious eaten in salads or cooked/wilted. Use within 3 days.

Red Radishes – Try out a new way to eat–they’re good roasted, in soups, drizzled with dressing, stir fry… Use within a week.

Mustard Mix – A second batch of this crowd favorite. Use within 5 days.

Boston (Butter) Lettuce – Thanks to the cooler weather, this leafy green is still going. Use within a week.

Toscano Kale or Bunching Broccoli – These are in rotation, so it’s a surprise what you’ll get! Bunching broccoli is new this year–a cross between regular broccoli and broccoli raab. Use within a week.

Garlic Scapes – These are only available for a few weeks in June. Remove the head and eat the rest, anywhere you’d use normal garlic, or chopped into salads. Use within 5 days.

Please note that any boxes not picked up by 8pm will be donated to SCS, and items are subject to change. Look for Golden Earthworm Organic Farm CSA on Facebook for more recipes from members!
